i was just in an UW group, america just lost the favor but we were still obviously able to stay in...there must have been some bug somewhere, because all of the doors were closed and we had no way to get anywhere...anyway, most of the people left except for me, and a few casters....through a door, they were able to kill a monster..and it dropped...a glob of ectoplasm...it was funny, because we had no way through the door, and the guy had no way to get his glob, and we eventually were forced to leave because of the bug...and that guy missed out on his 11k

Woulda waited for the favor to return. Course I've never gotten Ecto(havn't done many FoW runs).

When that glitch happens, there will usually be one grasping darkness just behind one of the doors. Since you were able to hit the guys behind the doors (with a nuker I'll assume) you could've killed the last grasping and opened the doors.

Oh well.

Common bug, has nothing to do with losing favor. It's because 2 graspings spawned behind the wall directly to your left if your facing the lost soul who gives you the quest. Just nuke them through the wall.

velvetbunny - yea i knew it was just a bug, the fact that i said we had just lost favor was kind of irrelevant

but i remember thinking as soon as they started nuking that monster..."if something good drops, it better not be reserved for me"

well. maybe with a necro skill you could have gotten the ecto.

necrotic tranversal (i think thats it). where u can teleport to corpse...maybe.

The time to go back to start point, take quest, and clear the darknesses would have timed out your item leaving it free for someone else to steal.

Necrotic transversal does makes me wonder.... can you do elona with no timer? And then tranverse back to get the quest, and tata~ completed =)

There are areas in the FoW that drop them as well. The area around the Wailing Lord has been known to yield some ectos. I think the banshees drop them.

I've seen this bug a bunch of times. Sometimes you can get out of it as was said by killing through the wall. Other times you may be screwed.

They do indeed. saw one drop from a banshee on my last FoW trip. Not for me >.<
